Have you always wanted to try sketching and/or watercolor in nature? If so, this workshop is for you! Join watercolor artist Michelle Detering for a morning of using a sketchbook to capture the natural world! Learn how a nature sketchbook can help expand your experience in nature and improve your skills in observing and drawing.

Students will spend time on the trails in Woldumar observing and sketching what we see. Later students will return to the barn to learn how to use watercolor to enhance their journals. Students will learn tips and Techniques for nature sketchbooks as well as ideas for what to record, journal layout, tools, photo references and how to observe in order to draw what you see.

Participants will need to bring a sketchbook designed for watermedia. Other supplies will be provided but individuals are welcome to bring their own favorite art tools as well.
