COVID-19 Update:
Due to the duration of the current stay-at-home order, and the amount of time we need to prepare our staff and site for the upcoming camp season, our June 22-26 and June 29-July 3 sessions have been cancelled.
We tentatively plan to open with the July 6-10 session, (including CIT) and operate through August 21, provided:
1. We are not prohibited from doing so by order of state/local authorities;
2. We receive (yet forthcoming) guidance from the CDC and MDHHS, and determine it is feasible for us to meet or exceed required health and safety standards;
3. There is still sufficient interest in our program to run a camp session. We do currently have adequate enrollment to have camp July 6 through the end of summer, so barring a large number of cancellations we are confident a shortened season can take place.
Any additional changes to upcoming sessions will be made with at least 2 weeks notice.
As we are all forced to adapt to a "new normal," our camp experience will be a bit different different than what we had planned. The most likely changes are detailed below:
We will communicate final changes in more detail as soon as we receive more specific guidance from the state.
If camp sessions are cancelled for health and safety reasons as directed by local, state or national health officials, full refunds will be issued, including deposits. If you are in need of financial assistance due to the COVID-19 outbreak, please complete a scholarship request.
PLEASE check your schedule before registering and be careful when choosing options. We are very low tech and changes are made by a human, a very time consuming (costly) endeavor. Please review our refund policy below. There will be no exceptions made.
For over 50 years, Camp Discovery has given Lansing area youth the opportunity to explore and discover the natural world in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment!
Not only do campers learn about nature and science as they participate in outdoor recreation, but our experienced counselors also coach them in teamwork, leadership, and communication.
We offer a 4 & 5 year-old full-day camp option. Preschoolers will explore the same weekly themes as the rest of camp, but do so in the context of age-appropriate activities and a different daily routine.
The experiences children have at Woldumar will stay with them throughout life!
Refund/Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations before June 1 will forfeit their deposit. Woldumar cannot offer any refunds after June 1st. If spaces are available, registration can be changed to a different week at no additional cost.
Scholarships Available!
Our scholarship program aims to help families with financial needs. We want all children to experience the benefits of spending a week outdoors at Woldumar. For more information contact: programs@woldumar.org
