For over 50 years, Camp Discovery has given Lansing area youth the opportunity to explore and discover the natural world in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment!

Get up and get outside! Come and join Woldumar’s staff on one or all of our fun-filled Winter Break Camp days. Campers will experience and experiment outside every day so that there are no “cabin fever” complaints.

Open to children grades K-6. Please remember to dress for the weather as we will be outside every day.

January 2-3, we offer full days of winter camp from 9am-4pm.

Extended care - 8 am drop off and 5 pm pickup.


Camp Activity Schedule


January 2nd: Survival & History

Bundle up and spend the day outside learning how to survive without technology. Campers will practice building shelters, tracking animals, and learn how to start a campfire for warmth. Then we’re firing up the wood burning stove and stepping back in time to learn about Michigan’s early settlers. With games and activities from the 1800s, we’ll explore how the Moon family kept busy during the cold winter months.


January 3rd: Winter Science

Step out into the world as we experience the science behind snowshoeing, skiing, sledding, igloos, and ice! Even if there is no snow on the ground our frozen experiments will give campers a reason to warm up with some hot chocolate! Get ready for a day of Winter Fun!

Members: $65/child/2 days 

Non-members: $85/child/2 days

Members: $35/child/day 

Non-members: $45/child/day 

Extended care - 8 am drop off and 5 pm pickup: $10/child/day


Member/Cardholder must be a current member at the Household level to qualify for discounted rate.  Membership status will be confirmed manually after your registration has been submitted.  Nonmembers who register at the member rate will have to resubmit their registration and may lose their spot if space is becomes limited.  To check your membership status, please call (517) 322-0030 (ext 5).
